Johannesburg – Thursday, 8 October 2026 — Skeem Saam welcomes actor Josias Dos Moleele to the world of Turf, where he steps into the shoes of the much-loved character Marothi.

Marothi, originally played by Macks Papo, became a memorable part of the Skeem Saam story world. Over the years, Macks brought his own depth, energy and personality to the character, making Marothi his own and earning a special place in the hearts of viewers across the country.

Earlier this year, Macks returned; however, for personal reasons, he was unable to continue filming with the production.

As Josias Moleele takes on the role, he brings his own interpretation to Marothi as the character enters a new chapter. Taking over a role that has already built a strong connection with audiences comes with its own responsibility, but Josias steps in ready to make Marothi his own.

Viewers can expect a fresh take on the character while Marothi Printworks continues to form part of the ever-evolving world of Turf.

Catch Josias Moleele’s first appearance as Marothi on Thursday, 15 October 2026, on Skeem Saam, weekdays at 19:30 on SABC 1 and SABC Plus.
