Online admission system for late applicants for 2018 drawing close

The Gauteng Department of Education reminds parents that they have one day left to apply late for Admissions 2018. The online admission application system opened for late applications at 08:00 on 01 November 2017, and will close tomorrow, midnight on 10 November 2017.

The system was opened to give parents who missed the 12 June deadline an opportunity to apply. No new applications will be processed in January 2018, as Gauteng schools are full.

The system is running smoothly and once again, we urge parents who have not yet applied, to urgently log on to and apply before midnight tomorrow.

Parents who applied during the Admissions period in May, who still have not been placed, are urged to visit the district office for placement or email us on This email address is being protected from spambots. Parents are also hereby reminded that several of our schools are full and cannot accept any more learners. There are 2 017 Public Ordinary Schools that offer Grade 1 and 8. It must be noted that402of these schools received applications beyond their school capacity and will not be available to parents to submit late applications.

“The Department has plans to ensure that all applicants that applied on time are placed. Once more, we thank the people of Gauteng for their overwhelming response to our call to utilise the online application system,” says MEC Panyaza Lesufi.
