Churches must be regulated: CRL
The The Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Rights of Communities(CLR) is working towards a system that will make sure that no religious leader operates without a license or in an unregistered church.
This comes after a Nigerian national made headlines in the spate of occurrences taking place in the religious circles in South Africa.
He is accused of molesting more than 30 young girls on the pretext of rescuing them from drugs.
Some of his victims are reportedly as young as 14-years-old.
The Commission's Thoko Mkhwanazi-Xaluva, accused some religious leaders of taking the Lord’s name in vain by defending their actions by saying God sent them.
Speaking on Morning Live, Mkhwanazi-Xaluva says churches need structure.
