2015 and 2016 matrics get second chance
The Department of Basic Education has launched the Second Chance Matric Support Programme which aims to offer support to matrics so that they can attain their National Senior Certificate.
This means matrics can now rewrite their Grade 12 subjects to either improve their marks or to pass subjects they've failed.
The Second Chance Matric Support Programme targets the Matric Class of 2015 and 2016 who want to improve their Grade 12 results or those who have failed a maximum of four subjects.
The programme's spokesperson Zarene Govender says the department will offer support through face to face communication, radio broadcasts, television broadcasts as well as in digital format via the Internet.
She says the department has partnered with various organisations to offer free Internet to students in order to access their digital programmes.
