Mamarumo Marokane - A confident exterior with underlying insecurities in Skeem Saam

She describes her love for her craft as “wanting to use the gift she has been blessed with to bless others”.

Mamarumo Marokane’s professional acting career began in 2016 when she graduated with a diploma in Acting for Camera and Live Performance.

She sought professional acting representation through an agency in 2016 and hit the ground running after booking her first two television commercials and thereafter booked a number of other commercials with brands like Crosse & Blackwell, Glen Tea, Game Stores and Samsung.

Mamarumo landed her first lead role in a television series called ‘Grit’, and in 2017 she was cast in a supporting role on the Netflix series ‘Shadow’. Since then, she has been seen in lead roles on TV shows like Isipho Sonthando, Magenge, Wa Lepelle and Shuga.

All those different characters, but the one she plays in Skeem Saam is somewhat, different. A beautiful but naïve girl. A confident exterior with underlying insecurities. A trophy side chick to one of Turfloops most successful (and married!) men, Marothi Maphuthuma.

‘Kaone’ is a student at the Polokwane culinary school and isn’t afraid to say exactly what’s on her mind. She currently shares a flat with a fellow student but has high hopes of soon moving into Marothi’s flat once he and his wife Rachel move into their new house.

She also has high hopes of one day owning her own restaurant with Marothi of course being the main investor. Will he be able to make all of Kaone’s dreams come true? And if so what about his own family?

Will she eventually be crowned Mrs Maphuthuma 2.0 or will she just stay on the side-lines whilst she watches another woman get all the things that she deserves instead?
