SA to host inaugural World Data Forum

South Africa will host the first United Nations World Data Forum in Cape Town at the Cape Town International Convention Centre this month.

It is scheduled to take place from 15-18 January.

The event will bring together 1 000 global experts including data scientists, academics and civil society groups.

The UN says over 1 000 data experts from all over the world have registered for the Forum.

Statistician-General, Pali Lehohla, says the event will help pave the way for standardising data.
