Siya Mdlalose was born in Pietermaritzburg, grew up in Durban, and later in his youth moved to Thembisa in Gauteng. Raised by a single parent, who is his pillar of strength and role model, his mother from an early age instilled in him good values of hard work, to be humble, to respect people and to always help out wherever he can to those in need.
Siya’s first TV break came in 2007, when he auditioned for a lifestyle magazine show called Take 5, which he hosted till 2009. Currently Siya is on SABC 1 hosting the youth entrepreneur show called ‘Making Moves’ and the travel magazine show ‘Kulcha Kwest’. Siya was also a voice over artist for various popular shows on SABC such as Daddy 24/7 and Mzansi Insider, Vuzu, Mzansi Magic and MTV Base, Including radio jingles on Umhlobo Wenene FM radio.. In addition to his television presenting and voice over work, He was a script writer, content researcher for Daddy 24/7, Nyan Nyan and Kulcha Kwest on SABC 1.
Siya has a great passion for public speaking, especially motivational speaking in High schools around the country. This passion reaches youth empowerment and youth entrepreneurship. His leisure’s of choice, when he is not filming or behind the mic, are reading, spending time with family and friends, listening to music, watching documentaries and traveling.
Kobedi Pokane has been in the TV industry for 15 years, and has gained a breadth of experience, developing competencies ranging from Presenting, to Content Producing & Scriptwriting, Production Managing, Directing, Concept Development and Sales.
In 2010 Pepsi bought the TV Production (Bonngoe Productions) division from the Re: public Media Group. Through Bonngoe TV, he has produced and worked on a number of projects, some of which include South African Film And TV Award winning shows, Afro Café and Making Moves.
Bonngoe TV producers over 5 hours of TV every week. They’re a Top 10 supplier to the SABC, and have entrenched relationships with ETV, and DSTV. March 2014 saw the launch a Satellite Office in Lagos, Nigeria. In anticipation of the growth of Regional TV, Bonngoe TV has also opened an Office in Durban, South Africa.
