RaisYourHandCancerViveCancervive 2015 Bike Ride: Gauteng - Limpopo - Mpumalanga

By Rofhiwa Nepfumbada, SABC Education Outreach Manager- Cancer has become one of the highest causes of death in South Africa. This is because the majority of the South African population lives in rural areas where access of information is not easy.

Most people don’t know that detecting cancer early make a huge difference between death and getting a treatment where some cancers are cured.

That’s where Cancervive comes in. Cancervive will be doing their 2015 Bike ride which will start in Gauteng with a few stops in Limpopo and Mpumalanga. The start and launch of this ride will be on the 11th of September 2015 at the Morris Isaacson High School in Soweto.

The NPO understands the importance of access to information for everyone, including the remote areas. The best way to give people information and do demonstrations is through face-to-face interaction. There are lot of myths that go with getting cancer.

This is because a lot of people don’t understand what cancer is all about. This ride is a great way to bust those myths as well as show people how to detect cancer early.
